WORSHIP THIS SUNDAY
Sunday's service will be livestreaming to our YouTube channel from the churchyard as we gather for in-person worship.
If you plan to attend worship in the churchyard, you must sign up here. We are limited to 25 people. If you are person 26 or higher, you will be given first dibs on the sign up next week.
Our service begins at 9:30am from St. Nick's, and those participating from home can click here to access the service online.

Masks are required. Please bring your own. A limited number of single-use masks will be available should you forget. Hand sanitizer will be available for all. The building, including the bathroom, is off-limits. Please plan accordingly. Please bring your own chair, and maintain a six feet distance from those not in your family. The lawn is marked to help with this.Dan Fannon will provide organ music before the service. Please keep your distance from Dan, who has a compromised immune system.There will be no coffee hour following the services. We have plans to phase back in some kind of gathering, especially for our folks worshiping from home, at some point in the future.
Now that we are meeting for in-person worship we need volunteers to read the weekly lessons and prayers. Readers, please sign up to participate this Sunday or for an upcoming Sunday on our Worship Rota. NOTE: Readers must also sign up for in-person worship on the coinciding day HERE.

- A NOTE FROM MTR. LEIGH, THE VESTRY & THE REOPENING COMMITTEE -
Dear St. Nick's Community,
Thank you for all you have done to make it possible for us to gather for in-person worship again, and then to add the Holy Eucharist back into our life together. As the Reopening Committee has met to do its work, we have carefully monitored infection rates in Dutchess County, and we, along with the Vestry, feel that it is time to consider moving back inside for Sunday services. We are hoping to do that on Sunday, October 11.
At first, that will simply mean moving what we are doing outside, inside, following all the same precautions (except for bringing your own chair). We know that our church does not have a large seating capacity, so we will be limiting our number to 20 people per service. Doing the math, you will quickly realize that we need to add back in a second service, and we want to get your opinion on that. We will preserve the YouTube streaming option for one of the services for those who need to continue to worship from home.

2020 GENERAL ELECTION
The 2020 General Election is upon us, and no matter your political affiliation, it is important to VOTE. Per the US Postal Service, there are three ways to vote in this year’s General Election: Mail-in Voting, Early Voting, and Election Day Voting. Important Dates:
-The USPS recommends that you request an Absentee Ballot no later than October 12, 2020, though the official deadline October 27, 2020. You may apply in person up to November 2, 2020.
-Early Voting Period is October 24, 2020 - November 1, 2020.
-Election Day Voting is November 3, 2020 from 6am to 9am.

DURING THE CORONA VIRUS CRISIS
We are grateful for each and every dollar we receive here at St. Nick's, and each one of those dollars goes to good use. We keep a lean budget, and our finance committee carefully monitors every line.
While we are not meeting in person for worship on Sunday mornings, we expect that plate donations will drop. And with so much economic uncertainty, we know that home budgets might change. In order to facilitate continued giving, we have reactivated our church PayPal account. Using the button below, you can make your pledge or donation online.

Additionally, you can also set up auto-draft from your own bank account using your online banking. This will cause a paper check to be sent to our mailbox at P.O. Box 490, Hughsonville, NY 12537 which we are checking each day. The Vestry are doing the normal count, and our parish administrator, Dana, continues to record pledges in our system.
END OF LIFE PLANNING The Coronavirus pandemic has likely made us aware of our own mortality in new and profound ways. It is the responsibility of the Church to assist its members in preparing for death "while they are in health," which often entails the preparation of a will, or, at the least, the preparation of a plan in the event of a member's death. We have prepared a funeral planning form that will help you begin to think through and to plan your funeral, and we encourage you to begin this process seriously if you haven't already. After you complete the forms contact Mtr. Leigh for planning.
From the Book of Common Prayer: "The Minister of the Congregation is directed to instruct the people, from time to time, about the duty of Christian parents to make prudent provision for the well‑being
of their families, and of all persons to make wills, while they are in health, arranging for the disposal of their temporal goods, not neglecting, if they are able, to leave bequests for religious and charitable uses." (p. 445)
