This Sunday October 5 Blessing of the Animals
Feast of St. FrancisHello parishioners - This Sunday is the Feast of St. Francis and animal blessing! Bring your furry friends (non-furry friends of course also welcome) for their annual benison. So far, the weather for Sunday looks nice, so we'll plan on having the service in the church yard. (Otherwise it will be in the church.) See you there - or at the auction on Saturday! -Astrid

FALL ADULT EDUCATION SERIES STARTS OCTOBER 12
Our fall series on "Dying Well" begins in just over a week. In the first class, "Dying Organized," a facilitator from the Hudson Valley Funeral Consumers Alliance will talk to us about steps we can take now to organize ourselves, from living wills to burial plans to (yes) straightening out the mess of passwords in our lives. Our second class, on November 9, is about "Dying Green: Exploring Ecologically Friendly Burial Alternatives" with Suzanne Kelly, author of the forthcoming The Greening of Death, A Reclamation. Finally, on December 14, Mother Storm will lead a class about the burial liturgy and Christian burial customs called "Dying Beautifully." Mark your calendars!
