THIS SUNDAY AT ST. NICK'S
Twenty-first Sunday after Pentecost
October 14, 2018
Services are at 9am & 10am
HELLO PARISHIONERS - Thank you to all those who have already returned their pledge cards. To date, we have 18 pledges totaling $59,412.00 of the $140,000 we need. If there is anyone who hasn't received a pledge card for 2019 but would like one; extras are available in the narthex. Lookout for pledge packets during the month.
Sunday, October 21st - Exploration Meeting Lead by Pastor Fred Jackson following the 10am service regarding a 2020 trip to Oberammergau, Germany. Special insert this Sunday.
NEXT Saturday, October 27th - our Rebuilding Together workday.
We have partnered with Rebuilding Together Dutchess to improve the home of an 89-year-old neighbor in Fishkill. We will do minor repairs on the home, such as installing grab bars and painting - essentially helping this person to age in place. The commitment is 8a to 4p, but we may be able to finish sooner, and Rebuilding Together has assigned us a project manager who will help us complete the project. We need people to commit and to sign up, and we are limited to 15 volunteers. You can sign here:

If you can't help with the home repairs but want to help in another way, we need people to be on a food team. To volunteer to help with food, please email Deb Evans at [email protected]. Thanks to Deb for heading up this effort!
Saturday, November 17th - 9a to 4p - St. Nick's Church Fair. The church fair is back again, this time with a Chili Cook Off, and a Christmas Shoppe! The Chili Cookoff will begin at 11a, and we need cooks to bring their best recipe to be judged in this spicy fundraiser. You can also enter a drawing to win one of my cakes at the bake sale! And finally, the ever popular "Trash & Treasure" returns upstairs. Thanks to Eileen Doherty for organizing the church fair this year. If you'd like to enter your famous chili in the cook off, please email the church office at [email protected]
Sunday, December 2nd - 4p - Advent Evensong and Open House. Welcome the season of Advent with Evensong and an organ demonstration by Daniel Fannon, our organist and choirmaster. We will invite the hamlet to join us for this special service and hope they will join us for an open house reception to show off the finished undercroft. Please save the date!
THE ROTA for FALL/WINTER is available HERE Being a Sunday participant is a great way to be involved in the services at St. Nick's. If there is anyone that would like to sign up to get onto the ROTA for future services please contact Dana in the office at [email protected].
SUNDAY SCHOOL Sunday School is for kids ages 4-12 and takes place in the undercroft during the first half of the 10am service. If you would like to receive our weekly email with children's news, please contact Jennifer Klein at [email protected]
PERSONAL CARE PANTRY St. Nicks is signed up for a special effort to help supply Love INC's personal care pantry. Please bring something in for our neighbors struggling to supply their families with non-food items.
AA GROUP MEETINGS Are held in St. Nick's undercroft every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday at 7:30pm.
COFFEE HOUR is a great time for fellowship! Thinking about hosting? The sign-up sheet is HERE, there are always slots available so please consider signing up. We like to keep it simple so Munchkins, cheese and crackers, or even some veggies would do. 😊
