THIS SUNDAY AT ST. NICK'S
All Saints' Day & Holy Baptism
November 5, 2017 - Services are at 9 & 10am
CONGRATULATIONS To Madelyn Elisa Gilman, who will be baptized at the 10am service this Sunday. Welcome to her mom and dad, Jessica and Justin, and their family and friends.
STEWARDSHIP 2017 Stewardship season is here! Each fall, we take a few weeks to think about why and how much we give to St. Nick's. This is also the time when church leaders construct a budget for 2018 -- we do that based on what the congregation pledges. Over the next couple of weeks, you will receive a mailing with a letter and pledge card. This year, our stewardship package will not be combined with the directory. On November 12, Ingathering Sunday, we will collect pledge cards and bless them with gratitude!
PLEASE NOTE: ST. NICK'S ORGAN RECITAL has been rescheduled until after the new year. New date to be announced.
NEXT VESTRY MEETING Has been reschedule for November 15th at 7:30pm and will meet in the undercroft.
SUNDAY SCHOOL NEWS: On November 12th, the children will be making note cards that will be included as a special addition to the Thanksgiving baskets that we give to local families. Don't miss out of this fun activity!
COMING SOON: ST. NICK'S CHURCH FAIR MISC. GOODS, BAKERS, AND CHILI MAKERS Our church fair is on Saturday, November 18th. To all of our chili makers out there, chili donations are needed! We will also need bakers for cookies, breads, cakes, and other treats so please sign up HERE, on the clip board located at the back of the church or on the bulletin board in the undercroft. Also, donations for our Trash-n-Treasure sale will be welcomed in a couple of weeks but we are excepting brown paper bags now. These can be left in the back of the church.
AA GROUP MEETINGS are held in St. Nick's undercroft every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday at 7:30pm.
PERSONAL CARE PANTRY As the rising costs of household necessities make more demand on the budgets of our clients, the bigger difference our donations make. Please think about taking the time to pick up an item or two for our local families in need. Following is a list of items needed to stock the shelves: Laundry/dish detergent, toilet paper, paper towels, tissues, feminine products, shampoo/conditioner/ combs/brushes, toothbrushes, toothpaste, bar soap, deodorant, razors, and shaving cream. The Linen Ministry needs gently used blankets and towels.
PASTORAL MINISTRY If you have concern for yourself, a family member or friend, please contact Mother Leigh Hall at 845-432-4659 or email [email protected]
CAPITAL CAMPAIGN Thank you to everyone who continues to give to St. Nick's capital campaign. It is because of your generosity and time that has been dedicated to this project that we have been able to make a more firm foundation for our worship space. Anyone who would like to check their pledge status can contact Dana at [email protected]. Those of you who would like to make a payment towards your campaign pledge here are two easy ways to make a payment:
1. Put your payment into the big box in the back of the church which is marked "Capital Campaign". Please write "Capital Campaign" on all checks, this will help keep Sunday donations distinct from campaign donations.
2. Mail your payment to the St. Nick's at 37 Point St., New Hamburg NY. Once again please write "Capital Campaign" on all checks.
COFFEE HOUR Interested in hosting coffee hour? It can be simple: Cookies, carrot sticks, crackers and cheese - whatever you can pick up at the store. The coffee is already made for you by the altar guild. Click HERE for instructions, ideas, and to sign up. Thank you!
