THIS SUNDAY AT ST. NICK'S
All Saints' Day & Holy Baptism
November 4, 2018
Services are at 9am & 10am
From the Rector - Let's Party
This Sunday is All Saints' Day, one of the great feasts of the church year. On this day, we remember all those saints who comprise the "great cloud of witnesses" -- those who have supported us along the way, those who have helped us, advised us, and loved us. Thank God for them. All Saints' Day is also one of the most appropriate days for Holy Baptism as we welcome one more person into this big family we call the Church. Nicholas Figueroa will be baptized at the 10a service this Sunday, and we will rejoice with him as he is sealed and marked as Christ's own forever. Finally, this Sunday is the day we will collect all the pledge cards for 2019. I will bless them, giving thanks to God for the collected gifts the people of this parish present at the altar. I look forward to seeing you Sunday.
In gratitude,
Mtr. Leigh
STEWARDSHIP 2019
Thank you to all those who have already returned their pledge cards. To date, we have 27 pledges totaling $82,368 of the $140,000 we need. Look for narrative budgets in the Narthex.
ST. NICK'S CHURCH FAIR & CHILI COOK-OFF Our church fair is on Saturday, November 17th. Chili and baked good donations are needed :) anyone that would like to donate please click here. Also, donations for our Trash-n-Treasure sale will be welcomed beginning Sunday, November 11th. These can be left in the back of the church.
We will be having a special Advent evensong with a brief organ demonstration followed by an open house in the undercroft on Sunday, December 2nd at 4pm. Even song is an ancient choral tradition that is distinctly Anglican. This year, we will pray together in this service of evening prayer as we usher in the season of Advent. Please be sure to join us aftrward for an open house as we invite the neighborhood to see and enjoy our newly renovated space.
REBUILDING TOGETHER REBUILDING DAY Has been rescheduled for tomorrow, November 3rd. We would like to thank all of our volunteers and give special thanks to Deb Evans [email protected] who did a spectacular job as our volunteer coordinator.
SUNDAY SCHOOL Sunday School is for kids ages 4-12 and takes place in the undercroft during the first half of the 10am service. If you would like to receive our weekly email with children's news, please contact Jennifer Klein at [email protected]
PERSONAL CARE PANTRY St. Nicks is signed up for a special effort to help supply Love INC's personal care pantry. Please bring something in for our neighbors struggling to supply their families with non-food items.
AA GROUP MEETINGS Are held in St. Nick's undercroft every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday at 7:30pm.
COFFEE HOUR is a great time for fellowship! Thinking about hosting? The sign-up sheet is HERE, there are always slots available so please consider signing up. We like to keep it simple so Munchkins, cheese and crackers, or even some veggies would do. 😊
