THIS SUNDAY AT ST. NICK'S
Twenty-sixth Sunday after Pentecost
November 18, 2018
Services are at 9am & 10am
From the Rector: So Much Gratitude
As I sat down to get quiet and and centered in the midst of this very busy season, I felt deeply grateful for all that is happening at our church - and it is a lot. No sooner did we finish our fall workday with Rebuilding Together Dutchess than we started our work on this weekend’s Church Fair in earnest. And in the midst of that: finishing the undercroft renovations, baptisms, stewardship season, recruiting new Vestry members, diocesan convention, and more. In all of these events and activities, we have dedicated laypersons who are integral planners and players in the work. Many of them are quietly behind the scenes, but all of them are essential to the ministry of St. Nick’s. I consider gratitude and saying “thank you” a spiritual discipline, and so I try to say these words a lot. But as Thanksgiving approaches, it seems like a good time to say it again here: THANK YOU to all who, with God’s help, make our church run. I couldn’t do this without you!
Please come see us tomorrow from 9a to 4p for the Church Fair. Eileen Doherty, Edie Palm, Jennifer Klein, Joan Freeman, and others have been working tirelessly to implement this wonderful opportunity for fellowship and fundraising. I hope to see you there.
In gratitude,
Mtr. Leigh
