9 AM SERVICE MOVES TO 8:30 AM THIS WEEKEND To ease flow and allow the choir to practice anthems, the 9 am will meet at 8:30 this Sunday. 9 o'clockers: big apologies for the inconvenience, and thank you for being accommodating! NEXT SUNDAY, APRIL 5, WE WILL RESUME OUR REGULAR 9 AM TIME.
STATIONS OF THE CROSS FRIDAYS AT 12:15 THROUGH GOOD FRIDAY Remember our stations service at the church every Friday through Good Friday. This quiet, meditative service lasts 20 minutes and is a good way to center yourself and remember the season.
HOLY WEEK AND EASTER SCHEDULE
Every Friday in Lent: Stations at 12:15 pm
March 29, Palm Sunday Service, 8:30 and 10 am
April 2, Maundy Thursday Service at 7 pm
April 3 Good Friday Children's Service 10 am, and Regular Liturgy at 7 pm
April 4 Easter Vigil at 8 pm
April 5 Easter Sunday 9 & 10 am
April 5 Easter Egg Hunt after the 10 am service
EASTER EGG HUNT DONATIONS DUE THIS SUNDAY Here's a note from Katie, who is organizing our Children's Easter Egg Hunt on April 5: "Thank you to all the parents who can bring in plastic eggs filled with candy for the egg hunt! I will leave a box on top of the Sunday school cabinet downstairs and you can leave your eggs there. Thank you again!" -Katie (Oliver and Lucie's mom)
GOOD FRIDAY CHILDREN'S SERVICE AT 10 AM APRIL 3 Every year, the kids gather for their own "stations of the cross" service, at which we walk through the last few days of Jesus' life. We'll re-enact the Entry into Jerusalem, the Last Supper and Foot Washing, the Garden of Gethsemane, the Trial, and the Way of the Cross. This is a super meaningful service for kids and grown-ups alike. Mo. Storm will lead the service (or Father Sipple if she's on leave).
EASTER FLOWER DONATIONS This Sunday is the last day for Easter flower donations. You can donate any amount by placing a check or cash in the envelopes provided in the pews, and then tossing it in the offering plates. Your flowers can be given in memory of or thanksgiving for a loved one. Note: an advanced list will go out by email early next week to confirm that we haven't left anyone out.
THINKING OF ATTENDING THE EASTER VIGIL? BRING NOISE MAKERS! service We need lots of loud instruments, bells, clanging things to make the Great Noise of the Easter Vigil. Please remember to bring whatever you can think of that night if you're planning to attend the vigil!
EASTER VIGIL BAPTISMS - "NO QUESTIONS ASKED" In keeping with our tradition, we will have "open" baptisms at our Easter Vigil. Know of someone who would like to be baptized or have their son/daughter baptized? They can just come to church on Saturday, April 4 at 8 pm and we'll baptize them then and there! They can meet me beforehand if desired, but that's not at all necessary.
SUNDAY SCHOOL LENTEN PROJECT FOR EPISCOPAL RELIEF AND DEVELOPMENT CONTINUES THIS SUNDAY For the second year in a row, the kids will collect change every Sunday in Lent to buy their choice of animals - pigs, goats, chickens - for families in the developing world. This project was a huge hit last year. To help them reach their goal, bring some spare change to church with you and put it in one of the plastic eggs provided in the back.
MEET FATHER PETER SIPPLE, Mother Storm's replacement when her maternity leave begins. For information about when he starts, and his bio, click HERE. We'll welcome him more formally when he begins.
COFFEE HOUR - SIGN UP HERE Thank you to those of you who recently signed up to host coffee hours. We still have LOTS of coffee hour slots open. It can be simple: donuts, carrot sticks, crackers and cheese - whatever you can pick up at the store. The coffee is already made. Click on the link about for ideas/instructions, and to sign up. Thank you!
THE "EVERYTHING ROTA" The rota (reader-server-altar guild-counter-teacher schedule) through May 24 is available HERE. IF you're not on it but would like to be, please pardon our mistake and let Dana know right away at [email protected].
