THIS SUNDAY AT ST. NICK'S

June 19, 2016
THIS SUNDAY We welcome back the Rev Canon Deborah Tammearu who will be officiating. Mother Tammearu is a former Vicar of St. Nick's and is now in charge of clergy transitions for the Diocese of New York. She is coming to celebrate with us and to ensure that all transition questions are addressed. Please come and welcome Deborah back on this important Sunday.
THANK YOU To all who contributed and joined us at last Sunday's luncheon. With all of your efforts and generosity it turned out to be such a lovely event!
THIS SATURDAY, JUNE 18th Clove Creek Dinner Theater will be featuring "Playing Doctor". Come out and enjoy a night filled with a delicious dinner (vegetarian meal available) and a great show. This event is sponsored by the Women of Zion. For more information contact: Thomasine Vaughan (313 478 5870) or Paulette Sibert (845 747 4217)
NEXT FRIDAY.. ALL ARE INVITED! Friday June 24th at 7pm to Zion's parish Hall. Fr. Victor Austin, who has been a longtime servant in our community has written a memoir, Losing Susan: Brain Disease, The Priest's Wife, and the God Who Gives and Takes Away - a poignant personal story. Copies of the book will be available for $11 and can signed by the author. For advanced copies call Liz Pavelka (297 4907).
PASTORAL CARE During the transition period the vestry has appointed "pastoral care liaisons" whom you may call if you need to speak to a priest for any reason at any time. These parish members will find a local priest to attend to your need. PROPERTY COMMITTEE MEETINGS There are lots of improvements and renovations happening at St. Nick's from the interior to the exterior. As we are making a lot of decisions we welcome all parishioners to join us at the Property Committee meetings. Please come and join the conversations. For more information contact Dana, by phone 297 2010 or by email at stnicholasnewhamburg@gmail.com

Kids read all summer long, as they normally would, and people from the parish and their families sponsor their efforts.
