TRANSITION NEWS Next Sunday June 19 the Rev Canon Deborah Tammearu will be officiating. Mother Tammearu is a former Vicar of St. Nick's and is now in charge of clergy transitions for the Diocese of New York. She is coming to celebrate with us and to ensure that all transition questions are addressed. Please come and welcome Deborah back on this important Sunday.

PASTORAL CARE During the transition period the vestry has appointed "pastoral care liaisons" whom you may call if you need to speak to a priest for any reason at any time. These parish members will find a local priest to attend to your need. The liasons and contact information are Liz Pavelka (297 4907), Polly Myhrum (297 5681), Rachel VanDerStuyf (896 2137), Melanie Hexel (297 3114), or Paul Curran (914 844 0894).

THE NEXT PROPERTY COMMITTEE MEETING is on Tuesday June 14 at 7:30 in the upstairs worship space. There are lots of things to discuss, entry ramp, lighting, electric service, fans, windows, organ and the building exterior. As we are making a lot of decisions we welcome all parishioners to join at this and and all meetings. Please come and join the conversations.

COMING SOON.. ALL ARE INVITED! Friday June 24th at 7pm to Zion's parish Hall. Fr. Victor Austin, who has been a longtime servant in our community has written a memoir, Losing Susan: Brain Disease, The Priest's Wife, and the God Who Gives and Takes Away - a poignant personal story. He will share some of his insights into the writing of the book and well as do some reading from it. Refreshments and an informal discussion will follow. Copies of the book will be available for $11 and can signed by the author. For advanced copies call Liz Pavelka (297 4907).

OUTBACK DINNER book was another success! We raised almost $2000 for St. Nick's. Thank you to Jack Devine and Melanie Hexel for organizing it!

SUNDAY SCHOOL NEWS: FRIENDS OF DARBONNE READ-A-THON The Read-a-thon is underway! Please remember to  return your information slips or email Joan Freeman so we know who is participating. Kids who haven't yet received a packet can get one in church this week. The read-a-thon raises money to support school children in Haiti. Kids read all summer long, as they normally would, and people from the parish and their families sponsor their efforts. More details are in the packets, or you can ask Joan Freeman or Debbie Evans after church any Sunday.
