WELCOME to the Rev. Derek Darves-Bornoz, who will be filling in for Astrid during her sabbatical. Mo. Storm will be back in the office on August 11, and in the meantime, remember that Cara is in the office Mondays and Thursdays, 9 am - 1 pm.
MID-YEAR PLEDGE STATEMENTS Your mid-year pledge statements should have arrived in your inbox the second week of July. If you didn't receive one, please contact Cara. Because so many of us travel during the summer, we tend to have a tough time making ends meet during these months. If you can, please help us by sending in pledges through the mail. (Remember, too, there's an auto-pay process that you can sign up for any time. That service is a huge help to our budget.) Pardon for having to ask this, but we want to keep our little parish afloat!
THE HAITI READ-A-THON is well underway! Kids, some dates to remember: August 22 is the last reading day. On August 24 & 31, we will collect and hand in our donations, and on September 7 (after church) we will have a party at nearby Bowdoin park with the kids from Zion Church! Stay tuned for more info.
COFFEE HOUR HOSTS NEEDED for our summer Sundays (sign up here or at the church). Remember, "keep it simple" is our summer motto (and that the coffee is already made for you).
JULY IS LOVE INC PERSONAL CARE PANTRY MONTH As in years past, throughout the month of July we will be collecting items for the Love INC personal care pantry. Liz will have lists of specific needed items available on the first Sunday of July. Stay tuned!
VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL: REGISTER ONLINE Vacation bible school is AUGUST 11-15, and our theme is Five Stories from Luke's Gospel, geared toward ages 4-12. If you know your son or daughter will be attending, you can register them with Cara, our office manager, by emailing her directly.
LOOKING AHEAD: VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL SUNDAY + PARISH COOK-OUT Don't miss Vacation Bible School Sunday on AUGUST 17, a festive service of plays and songs performed by the Vacation Bible school students. This year, following the service, we will have a parish cook-out in the side yard. You can sign up to bring something (or cook the meat) in the undercroft or HERE ONLINE.
ALSO LOOKING AHEAD: NEWCOMER CLASS SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 20 New(ish) to St. Nick's and interested in learning more about us? Save the date for our next newcomer class!
READER/SERVER/ALTAR/COUNTER ROTA The summer rota is available HERE. Remember this is the first pass at it, and we are happy to make changes as needed. Just email Cara.
