THIS SUNDAY AT ST. NICK'S
January 10, 2015
The Baptism of our Lord
RSVP NEEDED - ST. ANDREW'S POUGHKEEPSIE DE-CONSECRATION SERVICE JANUARY 17 The vestry of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church voted to close its doors last year, and as the final step of that process, Bp Dietsche will be deconsecrating the church on Sunday January 17 at 4 pm. We've been asked to submit the number of attendees from St. Nick's by this coming Monday, so please email Mo. Storm immediately if you plan to be there to support this community.
ALSO ON JANUARY 17 - ECUMENICAL MARTIN LUTHER KING JR SERVICE AT BETHEL MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH IN WAPPINGERS Come celebrate the life of Martin Luther King, and also the efforts in our own community to carry on his legacy of racial justice and equality for all people. This is a longstanding and meaningful tradition in our community, and well worth the time.
SUNDAY SCHOOL Sunday school is for kids ages 4-12, nursery for little ones 0-3. For more information about our kids' programs, you can sign up to receive the weekly Sunday school email on Thursdays. Just email Dana and she'll add you to the list: [email protected].
OPTIONS FOR PAYING YOUR PLEDGE PAPERLESS - AND EFFORTLESS!
If you would like to automate your pledge payments, which helps us maintain cash flow (and helps you avoid paper and hassle!), you can do that one of two ways: through the diocesan service, or by setting it up with your own bank. If you would like to know more about the diocesan auto-pay service (it's free - lots of other parishioners are using it!), then contact Dana and she'll send you the information. You can also read about it here.
PLEDGE PROGRESS FOR 2016 A huge thank you to everyone who has handed in pledge cards. As of the new year, we have 54 pledge cards totaling $132,000.00 toward our goal of ~60 pledge cards totaling $155,000.00. If you have any questions about pledging for Mother Storm, please don't hesitate to contact her. You also speak with our treasurer, Jamie Landsman, or Senior Warden, Paul Curran.
THURSDAY LUNCHTIME BIBLE STUDY ON SUNDAY'S READINGS -
Drop in when you can at noon every Thursday for a short service of noonday prayer followed by 45 minutes of Bible study and discussion on the texts for the coming Sunday! This is a totally casual, no pressure, come-as-you-can sort of thing. Hope to see you there! Runs noon-1 pm.
