CAROLING AROUND THE HAMLET THIS SUNDAY AT 4 PM
Come back Sunday at 4 for some caroling! Bring warm coats, a flashlight, and (possibly) an umbrella. No experience needed! Kids and grownups all welcome.
CHRISTMAS EVE SERVICES ARE AT 4, 6 & 10 PM
The 4 & 6 pm services include a children's homily, choir, congregational singing, and Holy Communion (both will replace and are identical to last year's 5 pm service), and the 10 pm is a quieter service with congregational singing, and adult homily, and Holy Communion. Both services last about an hour.
FLAME-LESS CANDLES FOR CHRISTMAS EVE
Finally! This year we will have safe, flame-less handheld candles for the singing of Silent Night on Christmas Eve for the safety of our little ones.
CHRISTMAS ANGELS - THANK YOU
to all the generous families who have committed to participate in the program with Mid-Hudson LOVE INC to purchase Christmas presents for children of LOVE INC families! We distributed responsibility for all 20 families last Sunday. Presents should be wrapped and labelled and brought to the church undercroft by next Sunday December 20. Board members of LOVE INC wanted to thank St. Nick's for this program and agreed to do all the deliveries for us. They will pick up from the church on Sunday the 20th. Contact Liz Pavelka (pavelkain@optonline.net) or Paul Curran (paul.curran@bqenergy.com) with any questions.
EPISCOPAL MIGRATION MINISTRIES - DID YOU KNOW?
Our outreach committee allocates funds each year that we set aside in our budget for good causes. This year's recipients include the Zion Food Pantry, school children in Darbonne Haiti, Rural and Migrant Ministries, and, most recently Episcopal Migration Ministries, a group that has helped resettle in our area some of the Syrian refugee families turned away by another state. See here for a piece about a family they recently helped. The outreach committee would like to affirm our support for these refugees now more than ever.
CHRISTMAS ALTAR FLOWERS
Envelopes for altar flower donations for the Christmas Eve services are in the pews starting this Sunday. You can donate any amount in memory of or thanksgiving for someone you love. Names will be printed in the Christmas Eve bulletins.
ADULT ED SERIES RESUMES IN JANUARY
Our final "Waste Not" session has been moved to January to better accommodate schedules. Stay tuned early next month for more.
OPTIONS FOR PAYING YOUR PLEDGE PAPERLESS - AND EFFORTLESS!
Coming soon via email: details on the three different ways you can pay your pledge electronically for 2016. This not only helps you by keeping it simple, but helps us maintain a steady cash flow throughout the year, particularly during the lean summer months. More to come!
PLEDGE PROGRESS FOR 2016 A huge thank you to everyone who has handed in pledge cards. So far, we have 53 pledge cards totaling $132,000.00 toward our goal of ~60 pledge cards totaling $155,000.00. You can put your card in the plate any time before the end of the year (the sooner the better for budgeting purposes). Thank you for your support! Pledge cards were included in your stewardship yearbook & directories. Please contact Dana if you didn't yet receive yours OR you can simply email Dana or Mo. Storm the amount you would like to pledge.
