THIS SUNDAY WE WELCOME THE REVEREND PETER W. SIPPLE To all who have not yet heard, this Sunday, Rev. Peter Sipple will begin serving as the interim pastor at St. Nick's until a new rector is appointed. Peter is delighted to be back and is looking forward to sharing Sunday worship with the people of St. Nick's.
The "EVERYTHING ROTA" Fall schedule is due to post next week. Anyone who would like to change their availability can contact Dana in the office or just shoot her a quick email to stnicholasnewhambur@gmail.com.
SEARCH COMMITTEE Thank you again to those who volunteered to be a part of this important decision. The following parishioners have been selected to serve on this committee. HAITI READ-A-THON UPDATE Wow! The Read-A-Thon board is loaded with stickers the children have used to mark their progress. The closing ceremony for this fundraiser will be on September 11th, at Zion Church in Wappingers, after the 10am service. Keep up the good work!!
SAVE THE DATE: PICNIC AT THE FREEMAN'S On September 25th Our annual welcome back picnic will be at the Freeman's located around the corner from the church. We will be taking directory pics for new members and anyone else that would like to update their own. Don’t miss it!
PERSONAL CARE PANTRY, LOVE Inc. This is the last couple weeks to help Love Inc. stock their shelves with personal care products to support clients in need. Remember you can always bring items with you to church on Sunday or drop them off any other time. Here is the list of the most requested items: laundry detergent, toilet paper, dish soap, paper towels, tissues and bath soap.
8th ANNUAL SCrAbbLe BLITZ TOURNAMENT Come out and have fun while helping to support Mid-Hudson Love INC. Games, raffles, hor d'oeuvres, desserts! This event will be held on Thursday, October 13th from 6:30-9:30. It is a ways out but requires pre-registration and space is limited. For more information go to www.midhudsonloveinc.org or call Ruth at (845 462-0163)
PASTORAL CARE until further notice please continue to contact the appointed Pastoral Care Liaisons in the case of an emergency or for anyone in need of a priest. These parish members will find a local priest to attend to your need. The liaisons and contact information are Liz Pavelka (297 4907), Polly Myhrum (297 5681), Rachel VanDerStuyf (896 2137), Melanie Hexel (297 3114), or Paul Curran (914 844 0894).
