Sunday School, Youth & Nursery News for June 28
NEW! CHILDCARE AVAILABLE ALL SUMMER LONG!
NEW!!! CHILDCARE FOR ALL AGES THIS SUMMER STARTING THIS WEEK! Thanks to all who got back to me (this is Astrid now!) about childcare this summer. Here's what we decided: throughout the summer, we'll have nursery care AND ALSO a caregiver for any 4-12 year-olds who would like to spend the first half of the service downstairs. Many of you like to keep your kids upstairs in summer (the 10 am service is slightly briefer in the summer to help with this), and that's GREAT. This is to give you options and/or for kids who like the time downstairs.
Note that this is not Sunday school; the kids will have activities and supervised free time, with craft materials available. On nice days, they'll go outdoors. They will then join us at the peace so they can receive Communion.
REMEMBER VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL: THE STORIES OF ELIJAH is July 27th-31st. VBS is open to everyone ages 4-12, and runs from 9:30- noon. It culminates into a big play the Sunday following , August 2. Spread the word!
DID YOU KNOW Our very own Tristyn Koren is going on a Civil Rights pilgrimage with teenagers from the Grace Episcopal Church in Millbrook and St. Paul's Poughkeepsie? She'll be joining them for six days in August to travel through the south to some key sites in the history of the Civil Rights movement. This pilgrimage takes place every year, so please think about sending your own teenager next August!
SUMMER YOUTH CONFERENCE AUGUST 16-22 The Diocese of New York sponsors an annual weeklong youth conference at the Episcopal Camp of the Incarnation in Ivoryton, CT. For more information, contact Dana at [email protected]. This is a fantastic camp - for a good piece about it from the New York Times, click here.
Looking forward to seeing everyone again this Sunday!!
