HELLO PARENTS AND TEACHERS
Hope everyone's holding up OK as Christmas approaches! This Sunday the kids will be learning about Mary's visitation to her cousin Elizabeth, called The Visitation (and don't you love the picture above?). Also, please see my note below about the candles on Christmas Eve because it's (good) news you'll want to hear. Have a great weekend and see you Sunday!

CANDLES AT THE CHRISTMAS EVE SERVICES - GOOD NEWS!
Finally, this year, we're tackling the fire hazard problem and replacing our candles with these "safe flame" candles, which the kids will love. So we can all worry a lot less!
CHRISTMAS EVE FAMILY SERVICES 4 & 6 PM
Spread the word because we hope to have plenty of room this year at both our family services. There is no difference between the two. They will both feature a kids' homily, the choir, and Communion, and both will last about an hour (no more).
STILL NEED ONE MORE TEACHER (OR PARENT HELPER) FOR THIS SUNDAY
We need someone to help Sarah Johnson, our currently scheduled teacher, this Sunday. If you're available, please email me so I know we've got coverage. She'll teach the lesson - we just need an extra hand with the kids, particularly this time of the year.
CHRISTMAS ANGELS - THANK YOU!
From our Warden: THANK YOU to all the generous families who have committed to participate in the program with Mid Hudson LOVE INC to purchase Christmas presents for children of LOVE INC families. We distributed responsibility for all 20 families! A reminder that presents should be wrapped and labelled and brought to the church undercroft by THIS SUNDAY, December 20.

AND REMEMBER: OPPORTUNITIES FOR OUR TEENAGERS THROUGH THE NATIONAL EPISCOPAL CHURCH: 2016 YOUTH TRIP TO THE UN and EPISCOPAL SERVICE CORPS
The National Episcopal Church and wider Anglican Communion offer LOADS of opportunities for kids to get involved with local and international efforts. One is the upcoming Leadership Forum, open to kids from all over the country. Click HERE for the flyer and contact me (Astrid) if you'd like an application. Also, the Episcopal Service Corps (sort of like the Peace Corps) offers a variety of ways for kids to spend time abroad. HERE is information about that. Applications are now being accepted, so contact me if you have more questions.
