HELLO PARENTS AND TEACHERS!
The image above is of God creating man, "adam," from R. Crumb's Book of Genesis (amazing, though not all kid-friendly, as Crumb fans can guess). The kids this week, inspired by this picture, will be creating their own little men with our very own pottery teacher, Polly! This is the climax of the creation story (at least from the human perspective), and it's going to be a GREAT lesson.
THIS WEEK'S TEACHERS
Sarah Johnson, Alex Reese, Derek Reis-Larson, and Polly Myhrum

NEW!!! "CONNECT" EPISCOPAL YOUTH GROUP FOR TEENS - NEXT MEETING SUNDAY NOVEMBER 29
The most recent CONNECT group in October was another success, with 15 kids from Grace Church Millbrook and St. Paul's POK in attendance. St. Nick's has been invited to be a participating parish, so let me know if there are any kids 14-18 interested. If so, I will try to be there as one of the leaders that week, so that your child knows someone there.
MORE OPPORTUNITIES FOR OUR TEENAGERS THROUGH THE NATIONAL EPISCOPAL CHURCH: 2016 YOUTH TRIP TO THE UN and EPISCOPAL SERVICE CORPS
The National Episcopal Church and wider Anglican Communion offer LOADS of opportunities for kids to get involved with local and international efforts. One is the upcoming Leadership Forum, open to kids from all over the country. Click HERE for the flyer and contact me (Astrid) if you'd like an application. Also, the Episcopal Service Corps (sort of like the Peace Corps) offers a variety of ways for kids to spend time abroad. HERE is information about that. Applications are now being accepted, so contact me if you have more questions.
LOOKING FOR VOLUNTEERS TO COORDINATE A SIMPLE CHRISTMAS EVE PAGEANT - LAST CALL?!?
In fact, "pageant" may be too grandiose. I'd love for the kids to possibly sing an old French Christmas carol called "The Friendly Beasts," and I'm thinking we could do something super simple, with 2-3 rehearsals during Sunday school slots in December. Please contact me if you might be interested and willing to help! Here's the song on video (there are lots of other examples on youtube).
SUNDAY SCHOOL TEACHER SCHEDULE Here's the schedule and let me (Astrid) know if you need any changes. Remember, too, all the teachers' email addresses are there, in case you ever need to find your own sub last minute (which you're welcome and encouraged to do!).
