HELLO PARENTS AND TEACHERS!
This week is (already!) the fifth Sunday in Lent, and the kids will be learning about the woman who anointed Jesus' feet with expensive perfume in preparation for his burial. Next Sunday (Palm Sunday March 20), they'll be making "resurrection gardens" (pictured above), which should sprout just in time for Easter. There's lots of learn in these next couple weeks! AND NOTE: I'm still looking for some help with Good Friday and Easter Sunday - see more on that below and email me if you're able to pitch in. Thanks, and see you Sunday! -Astrid

GOOD FRIDAY CHILDREN'S SERVICE MARCH 25th AT 10 AM Remember our Good Friday service for kids of all ages. We will walk through the last week of Jesus' life in an interactive, kid-friendly way. This is a great chance for kids to learn the story in language that speaks to them and their world. Save the date!
REMEMBER TO SEND YOUR CHILD TO CHURCH WITH LOOSE CHANGE Our Lenten offering is growing, thanks to your generosity. Let's keep it up! Send your child to Sunday school with a pocket full of loose change and we'll put it in the offering plate to help us support the important work of Episcopal Relief and Development (ERD). If you want to learn more about ERD, here's the website.
GOOD FRIDAY SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES TO HELP!! Parents! Would any of you be interested in leading a "station" this year? I have the part written out completely, and you can use what I've written or improvise if you like. I'd love to have a variety of voices and faces this year. Please email me if you might be interested. Also ...
CRAFT: LOOKING FOR HELP If you are able to help with the post-service craft (potting flowers is a hit, but we can do something else, too), please let me, Astrid, know.
EASTER SUNDAY EGG HUNT: LOOKING FOR HELP Easter is coming soon - March 27! We're looking for a few parents to help coordinate our popular Easter Sunday egg hunt. Please email me if you're able to help or want to learn more.
VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL IS JULY 17-24 Mark your calendars and help us spread the word! The theme will be announced sometime after Easter. And while we're thinking about summer...
EPISCOPAL SUMMER CAMP: INTERESTED IN GETTING A GROUP TOGETHER FROM ST. NICK'S? Did you know there is an excellent Episcopal sleep away camp in nearby Ivoryton, CT? Kids 7 and older can register to go for various weeks in the summer depending on your schedule, but please let me know if you're interested in possibly attending family camp, which is usually mid-to-late August. Families from around our diocese attend together, and maybe we can get a group of St. Nick's families together if there's enough interest! Email me if you'd like more information.
