Sunday School & Nursery June 1

Hi Parents & Teachers - This week we launch our summer Read-a-thon, where the kids will raise $ for scholarships at the Episcopal School in Darbonne Haiti - and merely by reading books of their choice!  If they sign up, they'll be matched with a sponsoring parishioner and given all the materials in Sunday school this week (and if they don't sign up, that's fine - they can still take part in the project in other ways).

NOTE: If you can't be here this week, we'll still hand out materials on June 8.  And if you can't make June 8, email me or Cara and we'll sign your child up.

In two weeks, June 15, we'll thank our Sunday school teachersat the announcements during the 10 am service. Teachers, please try to be there that day, and same with parents and students!

Speaking of this summer, SAVE THE DATE for this year's Vacation Bible School: August 11-15, 9:30 am - noon, kids ages 4-12.  If your child will be attending, you can register early by contacting Cara Ginder at stnicholasnewhamburg.org.  Or you can register closer to the date - that's fine, too.

Finally, remember that the Episcopal Church runs a very good summer camp, Incarnation Camp, in Ivoryton Connecticut. The camp takes kids ages 7 + all summer long, but the Diocesan Youth Summer Camp week is for high schoolers and runs August 17-23.  The cost is $250 for the week; the diocese covers the rest (and financial aid is available to cover the $250 if needed).  Email me if you want to know more about this, or about the camp in general.

This Sunday's Teachers: Deb Evans, Joan Freeman, and Liz Pavelka (for the Darbonne kick-off)

This Sunday's Nursery Volunteer: You'll receive a separate email from Caitlin.

Remaining Schedule for the semester:

June 8 (Last Day) - Jack and Katie

Have a good weekend and see you Sunday!
-Astrid
