HELLO PARENTS AND TEACHERS!
It's hard to believe I ever worried about spending a full ten weeks on the creation story, because we've discussed so much - and there's so much more! This week, however, wraps up this unit (next week it's on to Advent wreaths! See more on that below), and the kids will discuss Day 7, when God rested. They'll also take home their creation coloring books AND their "adam/human" they created last Sunday, which Polly fired in the kiln this week. Thanks, again, to her for volunteering for that project!
THIS WEEK'S TEACHERS
Jack Devine, Marcus Gauzza, and Maria Wainwright (helping)

ADVENT WREATH PROJECT NOVEMBER 22 & 29
Starting NEXT SUNDAY the kids will be making beautiful Advent wreaths while learning about the Advent season and its importance in the Christian year. Thank you, Maria, for overseeing this. Here's a sneak preview of the wreaths they'll be making. Please note: our rather modest children's education budget requires us to take donations for the Advent wreaths; we're asking for $15/wreath to cover supplies. If you're not able to cover that, no worries: we'll make sure no kids are left out.
"CONNECT" EPISCOPAL YOUTH GROUP FOR TEENS - NEXT MEETING SUNDAY NOVEMBER 29
The most recent CONNECT group in October was another success, with 15 kids from Grace Church Millbrook and St. Paul's POK in attendance. St. Nick's has been invited to be a participating parish, so let me know if there are any kids 14-18 interested. If so, I will try to be there as one of the leaders that week, so that your child knows someone there.
MORE OPPORTUNITIES FOR OUR TEENAGERS THROUGH THE NATIONAL EPISCOPAL CHURCH: 2016 YOUTH TRIP TO THE UN and EPISCOPAL SERVICE CORPS
The National Episcopal Church and wider Anglican Communion offer LOADS of opportunities for kids to get involved with local and international efforts. One is the upcoming Leadership Forum, open to kids from all over the country. Click HERE for the flyer and contact me (Astrid) if you'd like an application. Also, the Episcopal Service Corps (sort of like the Peace Corps) offers a variety of ways for kids to spend time abroad. HERE is information about that. Applications are now being accepted, so contact me if you have more questions.
SUNDAY SCHOOL TEACHER SCHEDULE
Here's the schedule and let me (Astrid) know if you need any changes. Remember, too, all the teachers' email addresses are there, in case you ever need to find your own sub last minute (which you're welcome and encouraged to do!).
