All Saints' Day
Hello parents & teachers! In Sunday School this week the children will be continuing their Sunday School lessons with teachers Marcus and Adam. This week's lesson is titled:
"The House on the Rock"
"The House on the Rock," also known as "The Wise and Foolish Builders" is a New Testament story based on Matthew 7:24-27. In this well known passage, Jesus teaches about the value of living out his commandments - namely, The Sermon on the Mount. At the conclusion of the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus offers a final promise in the form of a parable. He tells of the wise man who builds his house upon the rock versus the foolish person who builds upon sand. The point is simple, hearing and obeying the words of Jesus brings safety to one's life. To read more about this story, please read this link.
Our church services this Sunday will celebrate All Saints Day, when the Church honors all Holy Ones, known and unknown. Did you know that our English word “saint” literally means “holy"?
Have a great weekend!
-St. Nick's
Teachers, you can find the current teacher schedule HERE.
Sunday School is for kids ages 4-12 and takes place in the undercroft from 10-10:30.
