Read-a-thon - Sunday School - Fall Picnic - Silent Auction
Hi Teachers and Parents - here it is, the inevitable fall email chock full of news of upcoming events and reminders. But we've got lots of good stuff coming up that I don't want you to miss or forget, so bear with me!
DOES ANYONE HAVE STILL SHOTS FROM THE VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL PLAY? I saw a lot of video cameras running, but am looking for a few still pics for our Facebook page. If you have any, please do send them my way - [email protected].
HAITI READ-A-THON WRAP-UP AND CELEBRATION SEPTEMBER 13Remember our read-a-thon celebration on Sept. 13 after church in the undercroft.DIDN'T EVER GET AROUND TO PICKING UP A FORM? Forms are HERE, and you can still take part! Just tally all the books read over the summer and find a few sponsors - friends or family - to support. Hit up grandparents, maybe a neighbor or two, parents - even a parishioner. It's really very simple. Contact me (Astrid) with questions or click above for the forms.
SUNDAY SCHOOL RESUMES SEPTEMBER 13: "PEOPLE JESUS MET"Throughout the fall, the kids will be learning about the people Jesus encountered in his ministry - men, women, rich, poor, Jew and Gentile. This unit will give them a good understanding of Jesus' generosity with people - the example we're to follow.
INTERESTED IN TEACHING SUNDAY SCHOOL? MORE TEACHERS NEEDED! This year we'll be assigning 3 teachers per Sunday, so more teacher volunteers would be hugely appreciated. Please let me know right away and/or send along any questions you may have about it. It's a great way to get to know not only the kids, but these wonderful stories from the Bible, too!
SILENT AUCTION - IDEAS FOR FAMILY ITEMS? The auction committee would like ideas for items families may like to bid on. Please send them my way and I'll forward them to the group. Better yet, if you're willing to ask an organization for an item, that would be great. I'll give you the needed forms to take (or mail) to them.
FALL WELCOME BACK PICNIC AT THE FREEMANS SEPTEMBER 20 & POTLUCK SIGN-UP HERE This was a great event last year and so we're doing it again! The Freemans have a huge yard for the kids to play in, so plan to be there if you're free. Also, if you can sign up to bring something, click above or HERE and sign up online.
DIRECTORY PICTURES SEPTEMBER 20 AT THE PICNIC New since last fall's picnic? Then plan to have your directory picture taken! We want to get everyone in our new directory. Last year's pictures will be re-used, for those who already have a pic. If you want a new one OR have a new addition to your family, you're welcome to have your picture re-taken.
